Partner James N. Robinson (Jay) is co-founder and Partner of ARQ Wealth Advisors, LLC. He is a Series 65 licensed financial advisor with 14 years of financial industry experience, with a focus on retirement income planning. Jay attended the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso (Texas Western), where he graduated with honors earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Business Management. Jay also holds the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation and is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®). Jay was introduced to the financial services industry by his father, who was a Registered Investment Advisor. Prior to becoming an advisor, Jay was the #1 ranked wholesaler for a $1billion+ brokerage firm in the independent advisor space. He specialized in developing personalized income, retirement, and estate planning solutions for the top 1% of advisors in the industry and their high net worth clients. When Jay’s father passed away, he was integral in helping transition his father’s clients, most notably his mother. Through this process he learned the true difference between the terms “fiduciary” and “broker”. It gave Jay a lot of pride to know that his father took his role as a fiduciary very seriously. This experience compelled Jay to walk away from the brokerage industry and become an Investment Advisor with the fiduciary standard. Jay is a financial educator and teaches classes at local colleges on retirement and estate planning, social security maximization, and income planning. He has been a featured financial contributor for ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and CNN news. Jay is originally from Harrisonburg, VA in the Shenandoah Valley. He relocated to Arizona in 2006, and currently lives in North Phoenix with his wife Melissa. He is the proud father of 3 children Dylan, Abigail, and Samuel. He is an expert level mountain bike racer and puts on an annual charity ride that benefits the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN) in memory of his father, called The Hondo www.The-Hondo.com. He is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, and enjoys travel, wine tastings, food, genealogical studies, Scottish Highland games, and spending time with his family.
